I shall not cast out he that comes to me!

I shall not cast out he that comes to me!

“All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no way cast out” John 6.37

Beloved ones,

You may have undergone from a parent or any other person (supervisor, boss, Manager or a company, employer, minister, president, traditional leader or God’s servant) a humiliation of the kind “Get out my office and come back no more; out!”

In case you have never been a direct victim of such a humiliation, you probably heard or seen others rebuked by their supervisors, managers, teachers and being told with a severe and angry tone: “get out of my sight before I open my eyes”. It is likely that that attitude was the result of a bad behaviour from the victim. It might as well be because of blackmails from others with no confirmation of the information. Whatever the reason might be, is there any need to treat a human being that way as if it were a mere animal?

Oh, we can sometimes be so heartless and rude vis-à-vis our siblings and colleagues either when we have for a short while a political, financial or administrative power or when vested with religious authority.

My brother and my sister, should you have a serious problem and need help or an idea you keep on you as you fear rejection or hatred, please note that Jesus is stretching his hand to you today, ready to welcome you, listen to you and rescue you. He declares “Come to me all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” “(…) and him that cometh to me i will in no way cast out”.

Both in the past and now, the Lord has never cast out those who come to him. Even if it was with the view of accusing him, Pharisees and scribes of whom we know the hatred for Jesus, could not testify to this any better when they said: “This man welcomes sinners and eats with them”. It is a fact that Jesus hates sins, but he equally loves the sinner and wants him to repent.

My brother and my sister, I encourage you to draw near and with confidence to the throne of grace and mercy. Bring to Jesus your sorrows, suffering, misunderstanding and humiliation. He is your lawyer and will welcome you and listen to you with a care and love-filled attitude.

Have a great week!
